It’s mid-April and we still haven’t hit warm temperatures here in the Northeast. So, as I was sifting through my personal reference photographs I selected this image to paint in oil. I took this photograph a few years ago at the marina during the Seneca Lake Plein Air Festival in Geneva, NY. I named it “Till the Weekend”.
I’ve been busy creating new work in soft pastels and oils. Be sure to check out my portfolio to view them. I created one piece, twice….once in pastels and another in oils. The piece above is the view behind a friend’s home. Winter just won’t say goodbye yet…still snowing in April!
Today I dropped a painting off at View in Old Forge, NY for the 2018 Central Adirondack Art Show. The group show will run from April 14 to June 10, 2018. A reception will be held May 5, from 5 to 7pm. This event celebrates the talents of artists within a 200 mile radius of the multi-arts center in Old Forge, NY.
On my easel today is a soft pastel painting of the sunset on Lake Ontario. I loved the challenge of color in this piece. I used my own photograph to set the stage for this painting. Enjoy!
I am pleased to share that I have a number of my paintings available at Gallery 54 in Skaneateles, NY. In addition to nine of my oil and pastel paintings at the gallery, I have giclee prints matted and ready to place in your own 9×12″ or 11×14″ frame.
